PM Shehbaz Likely to Meet Putin During SCO Summit in China
Islamabad, August 27 – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to hold a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin next week on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in China, diplomatic sources confirmed on Wednesday.
The meeting, arranged through official diplomatic channels, will focus on strengthening Pakistan-Russia bilateral relations, regional peace and security, as well as consultations on pressing global issues.
Along with the session with President Putin, PM Shehbaz is also scheduled to meet several world leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
According to officials, these high-level engagements are part of Pakistan’s efforts to enhance cooperation with regional powers within the SCO framework.
The Prime Minister will depart for China on August 30, where the summit will bring together top leaders from across Asia to discuss economic partnerships, security cooperation, and global challenges.
