Social Media Influencer Samiya Hijab Escapes Kidnapping Attempt, Suspect Arrested in Islamabad
Islamabad, September 02, 2025 – Social media personality Samiya Hijab, a well-known influencer from the federal capital, narrowly escaped an abduction attempt outside her home. Thanks to the prompt action of the Islamabad Police, the suspect was apprehended within 24 hours, bringing relief to the influencer and her family.
In an emotional video shared on Instagram, Hijab identified the suspect as Hassan Zahid from Lahore, alleging that he had been harassing her for several months with threatening messages and forcing marriage proposals. She revealed that Zahid confronted her outside her residence, snatched her mobile phone, and attempted to drag her into his vehicle.
“My mother was unwell, and my brother was not at home. As soon as I stepped outside, he grabbed my phone and forced me into his car. Luckily, I managed to record part of the ordeal,” Hijab said in her video statement.
Reference to Previous Tragedy
The influencer also recalled the tragic case of TikToker Sana, who was murdered in Islamabad earlier this year after reportedly rejecting a proposal. Hijab stressed that she did not want to meet the same fate:
“My friend Sana lost her life for the same reason — for rejecting a proposal. I do not want to become the next Sana.”
Police Response and Protection
Following her complaint, Islamabad IG Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi immediately ordered action. Hijab confirmed that she had undergone a medical examination that verified signs of physical assault. She also revealed that police security had been deployed outside her house after she received fresh death threats from the suspect.
“Can you imagine the audacity? Even this morning, he threatened to kill me if I didn’t withdraw the FIR,” she explained.
Hijab praised the police, especially SHOs Shafqat and Ishaq, for their quick intervention, noting that the suspect’s arrest proved that lawbreakers cannot escape accountability.
“He thought he could abduct me, force me to marry him, and get away with it. But within 24 hours, he was behind bars,” she added.
Call for Exemplary Punishment
The influencer urged authorities to ensure exemplary punishment for such crimes to prevent similar incidents in the future.
“Before anyone dares look at a sister or daughter with such intentions, they should think ten thousand times,” she emphasized.

Hijab concluded by stating that she would continue to raise her voice not just for her own security but also for every girl who feels unsafe in society.
