LAHORE, August 25, 2025:

The Cadet National Wrestling Championship concluded in Gujranwala with an impressive display of talent from young athletes representing 26 cities across Pakistan. More than 160 wrestlers between the ages of 10 and 17 competed in 14 weight categories ranging from 30kg to 125kg.


Gujranwala Wrestlers Dominate National Cadet Championship

🏆 Gujranwala Crowned Champions

Host city Gujranwala dominated the championship, finishing as the overall winners with a medal tally of:

  • 8 Gold

  • 5 Silver

  • 5 Bronze

Lahore secured second position with 5 gold, 5 silver, and 4 bronze, while Peshawar came third with 1 gold, 3 silver, and 6 bronze medals.

🎖 Closing Ceremony & Recognition

At the closing ceremony, medals, prizes, and certificates were distributed among the top wrestlers. The event was jointly organized by the Gujranwala Division Sports Office and the Pakistan Wrestling Federation (PWF).

Speaking on the occasion, PWF Secretary and World Champion Muhammad Inam Butt praised the young athletes and announced a special two-month training camp in Gujranwala for the best performers.

🌍 Road to Youth Asian Games

These selected cadet wrestlers will go on to represent Pakistan at the Youth Asian Games in Bahrain this October, marking a major step forward for the future of Pakistani wrestling on the international stage.
