Pakistan Beat UAE by 31 Runs as Saim Ayub and Hasan Nawaz Shine in Tri-Series
Sharjah (30 August 2025): Pakistan continued their winning run in the ongoing T20 tri-series, securing a 31-run victory against the UAE at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Saturday. The win was powered by outstanding batting displays from Saim Ayub and Hasan Nawaz, along with a match-winning spell by Hasan Ali.

Pakistan’s Explosive Batting Performance
After being asked to bat first, Pakistan faced early setbacks as Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman departed cheaply. However, young opener Saim Ayub took charge with a breathtaking innings of 69 runs from 38 balls, including 7 fours and 4 sixes.
He was well supported by Hasan Nawaz, who entertained the Sharjah crowd with a fiery 56 off just 26 deliveries, smashing 6 towering sixes at a strike rate of over 215.
Despite quick dismissals of skipper Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Haris, all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz added a valuable 25 off 15 balls to keep the scoreboard ticking. Late cameos from Faheem Ashraf (16 off 10) and Hasan Ali (9 off 6) pushed Pakistan past the 200-run mark, finishing on 207 in 20 overs.
For UAE, Saghir Khan and Junaid Siddique impressed with three wickets each, while Haider Ali chipped in with two scalps.
UAE’s Fightback Led by Asif Khan
Chasing 208, UAE lost Mohammad Zohaib early before skipper Muhammad Waseem struck a quick 33 off 18 balls. However, the middle order collapsed as Ethan Carl D’Souza, Alishan Sharafu, and Rahul Chopra fell cheaply, leaving UAE reeling at 76/5.
The hosts found hope in Asif Khan’s brilliant 77 off 35 balls, decorated with 6 fours and 6 sixes. He built a fighting partnership with Dhruv Parashar (15 off 19), but his dismissal in the penultimate over to Hasan Ali ended UAE’s resistance.
UAE eventually managed 176/8 in 20 overs, falling short by 31 runs.
Bowling Stars for Pakistan
Veteran pacer Hasan Ali led the bowling attack with 3/47, while Mohammad Nawaz was exceptional with figures of 2/21 in four overs.
