Gold Price in Pakistan Surges by Rs4,100 Per Tola Amid Global Market Rally
Karachi – August 23, 2025: The gold market in Pakistan witnessed a sharp upward movement on Saturday as prices climbed in tandem with the international bullion rally. According to the latest figures issued by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold per tola jumped by Rs4,100, pushing the new rate to Rs359,800 in the local market.

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold surged by Rs3,515, settling at Rs308,470. This rise comes after a volatile trading week where the yellow metal had recorded both gains and losses. Just a day earlier, on Friday, gold per tola had dipped to Rs355,700 following a decline of Rs1,500.
International Market Driving Local Prices
The local spike closely follows developments in the global market, where gold prices registered a solid rebound. The international spot rate of gold rose by $41, reaching $3,371 per ounce, with an additional premium of $20. Analysts attribute this jump to safe-haven demand amid global economic uncertainty and fluctuations in the US dollar index.
Silver Prices Also Record an Increase
The rally was not limited to gold alone. Silver also saw a rise in demand, with its rate climbing by Rs108 per tola to settle at Rs4,121 in Pakistan.
Investors Turn to Precious Metals
Market experts suggest that both global and domestic investors are turning to gold as a hedge against inflation, economic instability, and currency depreciation. In Pakistan, ongoing rupee fluctuations and concerns over import costs have also been fueling demand for the precious metal.
Gold traders believe that if the international upward momentum continues, local prices may touch record highs in the coming weeks. “Safe-haven buying is back in the spotlight, and Pakistan’s market is reflecting global trends,” said a senior jeweler from Karachi’s Sarafa Bazaar.
