✨ Big news for Pakistan women’s cricket! ✨

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has named a 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, appointing all-rounder Fatima Sana as captain for the first time in a global tournament.

The World Cup will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka from September 30 to November 2, but due to the hybrid model agreed earlier this year, Pakistan will play all its matches in Colombo.

🏏 Fatima Sana Leads for the First Time

The 23-year-old Fatima Sana, who previously led Pakistan during the World Cup Qualifiers in Lahore, will captain the side in Sri Lanka. Pakistan went unbeaten in the qualifiers, securing their spot in this year’s tournament.

Uncapped ODI batter Eyman Fatima, who recently debuted in T20Is against Ireland, has been included in the squad. Six players will be making their maiden ODI World Cup appearance, including Natalia Parvaiz, Rameen Shamim, Sadaf Shamas, Sadia Iqbal, Shawaal Zulfiqar, and Syeda Aroob Shah.

🔄 Squad Changes & Reserves

The PCB confirmed two changes from the Qualifiers squad: Eyman Fatima and Sadaf Shamas come in, while Gull Feroza and Najiha Alvi move to the reserves list. Other reserves include Tuba Hassan, Umm-e-Hani, and Waheeda Akhtar.

A 14-day training camp will begin on August 29 in Lahore ahead of a three-match ODI series against South Africa (Sept 16–22), which will serve as preparation for the mega event.

📅 Pakistan’s World Cup Fixtures (Colombo, 3 PM local time)

  • Oct 8 – vs Australia

  • Oct 15 – vs England
